Early Life and Starting His Music Career

Dotman was born in a town called Agosasa in Ogun State, Nigeria. He belongs to the Yoruba people, a large ethnic group in the southwestern part of the country. He went to Abeokuta Grammar School and later studied Physics Education at the University of Lagos.

His love for music was inspired by famous artists like King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti, and 9ice. Dotman's journey into the music world officially began when he won a rap competition at his university. This win gave him the confidence to pursue music as a career.

Rise to Fame

By 2016, music experts were already noticing Dotman's talent. The music website TooXclusive named him one of the "Artistes To Watch in 2017." In January 2017, he got a big opportunity to perform at the Big Brother Naija live show in South Africa, which introduced him to a much larger audience.

For a while, Dotman was signed to a music label called Labo Entertainment. However, in May 2021, he decided to focus on his own record label, 808 Recordz. This means he is an independent artist, giving him more control over his music.
