What is Double Dragon About?
The story of Double Dragon begins with two brothers, Billy and Jimmy Lee. They were separated when they were babies. Billy was raised by a wise martial arts master called the Oldest Dragon. His brother, Jimmy, grew up with the evil Shadow Master. Jimmy became the Shadow Boss, the Shadow Master's second-in-command.
Brothers Divided and Reunited
As adults, Billy and Jimmy were on opposite sides. But when the Shadow Master betrayed Jimmy, he decided to change. Jimmy left his evil ways and joined Billy as a Dragon Warrior. Together, the Lee brothers fought against the Shadow Master and his helpers. They also searched for their missing father, John Lee, throughout the series.
From Game to Screen
The first episode of the show was inspired by the first Double Dragon video game. It featured villains like the Shadow Boss (Jimmy's evil self), Abobo, and Willy. After the second episode, Abobo and Willy were gone. Jimmy then teamed up with Billy to fight the main villain, the Shadow Master. Many new characters were created just for the TV show. Some of these villains also appeared in the fighting game Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls.
Meet the Characters
In the series, Billy and Jimmy Lee are martial arts teachers. They also help the police. When things get dangerous, they become superheroes called the Double Dragons. They can change back by crossing their swords and saying, "For Might! For Right! We are Double Dragons!" If one brother gets hurt badly, their powers might turn off. If one loses powers, the other does too. They can also sometimes feel when the other is in danger.
