Doyle is a small, unincorporated community located in Jefferson Township, Miami County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. An "unincorporated community" means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. It's part of a larger township.
History
Doyle began as a small stop along the Lake Erie and Western Railroad. It was known as a "siding." A siding is like a short extra track next to the main one. Trains could pull over onto this siding. This allowed other trains to pass or for goods to be loaded and unloaded. The community was named after the Doyle family, who were early settlers in the area.
