Dragana Mirković is a very famous Serbian singer and businesswoman. She was born on January 18, 1968. She became well-known in the 1980s as part of the popular music group Južni Vetar. Many people consider Dragana Mirković one of the most successful artists from the area that used to be Yugoslavia. She has sold millions of records. She also started a music TV channel called DM SAT with her husband.

Life and Music Career
Early Life and First Songs
Dragana Mirković was born in a village called Kasidol in Serbia. She grew up with her parents, grandparents, and sister. Her grandfather, Dragutin, played the accordion and inspired her love for music. When she was only five, she learned to sing a traditional folk song. As a child, she often sang in school shows and local events. People noticed her talent, and soon, record companies became interested.
Starting Out and Južni Vetar
When Dragana was 14, a record company called Diskos asked her to record a song. This led to her first album, Imam dečka nemirnog, released in 1984. Her second album, Umiljato oko moje, came out in 1985 and sold many copies.
In the mid-1980s, Dragana started working with the music group Južni Vetar. This group included Miodrag Ilić, Sava Bojić, and Perica Zdravković. Her first album with them, Spasi me samoće, was released in 1986 and was very popular. Južni Vetar worked with many singers and was loved across Yugoslavia. Folk music was very popular then. Dragana recorded four more albums with Južni Vetar, including Ruže cvetaju samo u pesmama (1987) and Simpatija (1989). The song "Simpatija" (meaning "Crush") became a huge hit.
Solo Success in the 1990s
In 1991, Dragana released her first solo album after Južni Vetar, called Dobra devojka. It had two big hit songs. The next year, Dolaze nam bolji dani came out with many popular tracks. Her tenth album, Do poslednjeg daha, was released in 1993 and also had several hit singles.
In 1994, she released Nije tebi do mene, which included more popular songs. That same year, Dragana starred in a movie called Slatko od snova. She played a girl who worked in a fast-food restaurant and dreamed of becoming a famous singer.
Dragana released four more albums in the 1990s, including Plači, zemljo (1995) and Kojom gorom (1997). Her last album of the 1990s was U godini (1999), which she made with Zlaja Band. After her album Sama in 2000, she took a break from music for four years.
Return to Music
Dragana Mirković returned to music in 2004 with her album Trag u vremenu. This album had many popular songs. In 2006, she released Luče moje, which also featured several hit singles. Her album Eksplozija came out in 2008.
In 2011, she released three new songs and a new version of an old song. These were very well-received. All these songs, plus 16 new ones, were part of her album 20, released in 2012. In 2014, Dragana sang a duet with the famous singer José Feliciano called "Please Don't Go Away." That same year, she held a big concert in Belgrade to celebrate 30 years of her music career. In 2017, she released her album Od milion jedan.
In March 2024, Dragana performed a concert in Podgorica, Montenegro. The audience gave her a standing ovation, and her concert was described as amazing.
Other Activities
In 2005, Dragana Mirković and her husband, Toni Bijelić, started their own satellite music video channel called DM SAT.
Dragana also uses her fame to help others. In November 2012, she held a charity concert in Zenica, Bosnia. The concert, called "Dragana and Friends for Zenica," raised money for a local charity that helps people. She also performed at another charity concert in Sarajevo in December 2013, which helped the Roma community in Bosnia.
Personal Life
Dragana Mirković married Austrian businessman Toni Bijelić in 1999. They have two children, Marko and Manuela. In 2023, Dragana and Toni met actor Jean-Claude Van Damme in Hollywood. On March 27, 2024, Dragana announced that she and Toni were getting a divorce after 24 years of marriage. She shared that they had not been living together for some time.
Musical Style
Dragana Mirković is known for her unique "oriental" style of turbo folk music. Her songs often express deep feelings, especially about love and relationships. She is one of the most popular Serbian folk singers. Many people call her "The Madonna or Lady Gaga of Serbia" because of her success.
