Dragiša Binić's Football Journey

Joining Red Star Belgrade

In the summer of 1987, when he was almost 26, Dragiša Binić joined Red Star Belgrade. This move meant he would play again with his old teammate, Dragan Stojković, who was already a big star at Red Star. The club wanted to win big again after a tough season.

Other new players joined the team too. These included defender Goran Jurić, midfielder Refik Šabanadžović, and a very talented young midfielder named Robert Prosinečki.

Playing for Red Star

Binić quickly settled into the team. He played alongside important players like Žarko Đurović, Goran Milojević, and the team leader Dragan Stojković. He started the season well, even scoring a goal in an away game.

Sometimes, Binić and his coach, Velibor Vasović, had disagreements. This led to Binić being temporarily suspended from playing in matches. After some time, he was allowed to play again and continued to contribute to the team.
