Dry Doc (born in 1968, passed away in 1997) was a famous American Quarter Horse stallion. He was registered with the AQHA. Dry Doc was known for his amazing skills as a "cutting horse." This means he was very good at separating a single cow from a herd. He was the son of two very famous horses: his father was Doc Bar, and his mother was Poco Lena, a champion cutting mare.
Life of Dry Doc
Dry Doc was born in 1968. His parents were the famous stallion Doc Bar and the champion mare Poco Lena. He was the second and last foal born to Poco Lena. Dry Doc was also the full brother to another famous horse named Doc O'Lena.
Dry Doc was a very talented cutting horse. He was honored by being added to the NCHA Hall of Fame in 1980. This is like a special club for the best cutting horses. His mother and full brother were already in this Hall of Fame. Later, in 1997, Dry Doc was also inducted into the Michigan Quarter Horse Association Hall of Fame.
Dry Doc was a bay colored horse. He was bred and owned by Dr. and Mrs. Stephen F. Jensen. They lived in Paicines, California, when Dry Doc was first registered.
