What is the History of Ducat?
Ducat was officially planned and mapped out in 1890. This process is called platting. It means someone drew up plans for streets and land lots. The community was named after its owners, Exea and Thomas J. Ducat.
A post office was opened in Ducat in 1890. This was an important service for the people living there. It allowed them to send and receive mail. However, the post office closed its doors in 1909.
