Nyadak "Duckie" Thot (born October 23, 1995) is a model from South Sudan and Australia. Duckie Thot was a contestant on Australia's Next Top Model in 2013. She later walked in her first big fashion show for Kanye West's Yeezy brand. She is well-known for being a face of Fenty Beauty. Duckie also played the main role of Alice in a special 2018 Pirelli Calendar inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

Early Life and Beginnings
Duckie Thot grew up in Melbourne, Australia. Her family came to Australia from South Sudan because of difficult times in their home country. Her mother was expecting Duckie when they arrived. Duckie is one of seven children. She is the first in her family to be born in Australia.
At school in Melbourne, her classmates and teachers found her birth name, Nyadak, hard to say. This led to her using the nickname "Duckie." She prefers to be called Duckie as a model. She finished school in 2013.
Duckie's Modeling Career
Duckie Thot learned about modeling from her older sister, Nikki Perkins. Nikki is a model and a YouTube star. She often took Duckie with her to photo shoots. This inspired Duckie to try out for Australia's Next Top Model in 2013. She finished in third place on the show.
Starting Out in Australia
Duckie began her modeling career in Australia. She walked the runway for David Jones in 2016. However, she found it hard to get many jobs there. She felt there were not enough chances for models of color in Australia. Because of this, she decided to move to Brooklyn, New York. She hoped to find more success as a model in America.
Moving to New York
Duckie flew to New York and met with many modeling agencies. She received several offers to sign with them. In the end, she chose to join New York Model Management.
Kanye West helped boost Duckie's career. One day, after a casting call in New York, Kanye West's assistant found her. The assistant invited her to meet West right away. Duckie ended up shooting a magazine cover that same day. She then walked in the Yeezy Spring/Summer 2017 show. This was her first international fashion show.
Global Recognition and Campaigns
Since 2018, Duckie Thot has been a global ambassador for L'Oreal Paris. She has also worked on campaigns for big brands. These include Fenty x Puma, Fenty Beauty, Moschino, Balmain, and Oscar de la Renta. In 2018, she walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for the first time. The Pirelli Calendar and Advocacy
The 2018 Pirelli calendar was very special. It was photographed by Tim Walker and styled by Edward Enniful. This calendar was an all-black version of Alice in Wonderland. Duckie Thot played Alice, and this role helped her become very famous.

She says her family always helps her remember her roots. Coming to Australia from South Sudan made her parents want to keep their culture alive. They did this by speaking their language, eating traditional foods, and attending a South Sudanese church. Duckie finds praying helps her stay calm and focused. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13.
Rihanna has become a friend and mentor to Duckie. They worked together for Fenty Beauty.
Duckie is aware of the ongoing challenges in South Sudan. She wants to use her platform to help Africa. She hopes to provide support so people can heal and take care of themselves.
Legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath was inspired by Duckie's skin tone. She created a new makeup color just for her.
