Dudleyville is a small, quiet place in Bond County, Illinois, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger county. You can find Dudleyville south of Greenville, and it's quite close to the Greenville Airport.
Discovering Dudleyville's Past
Dudleyville has a short but interesting history. Back in 1861, a post office opened here. This was a big deal because it meant people could send and receive letters and packages easily. The post office helped the community connect with the outside world.
However, the post office didn't stay open forever. It closed its doors in 1902. The community itself was named after a man named John Dudley. He was the first owner of the land where Dudleyville was built.
