Duncan Weir is a professional rugby union player from Scotland. He was born on 10 May 1991. Duncan plays as a fly-half for the United Rugby Championship team Glasgow Warriors. He also represents the Scottish national team.

Starting His Rugby Journey
Duncan Weir went to Cathkin High School. He began playing rugby at an amateur club called Cambuslang RFC.
Later, he played for other amateur teams like Glasgow Hawks and Aberdeen GSFP. This allowed him to keep playing even when he wasn't with his main professional club. He also played for Stirling County and Currie.
When Duncan moved to a different professional team, he also played for new amateur clubs. These included Hawick and Boroughmuir.
Playing Professional Rugby
First Steps with Glasgow Warriors
Duncan Weir started his professional career with Glasgow Warriors. His first game was on 23 April 2010 against Leinster Rugby. He became the 181st player to represent the Glasgow Warriors.
In March 2014, Duncan signed a new contract to stay with Glasgow for two more years. He helped the team win the Pro12 title in the 2014-15 season. This was a big achievement for him and the team.
Moving to Other Teams
On 24 January 2016, Duncan left Glasgow Warriors. He joined Edinburgh, another Scottish team, for two years. He scored 221 points in 30 games for Edinburgh.
After his time in Edinburgh, he moved to England. He joined Worcester Warriors in the Premiership Rugby league. He played very well there and signed a new two-year deal in December 2018.
Back to Glasgow
On 13 January 2021, Duncan Weir decided to return home to Scotland. He rejoined his first professional club, Glasgow Warriors. He started playing for them again in the 2021-22 season.
Playing for Scotland
Duncan Weir has also played for the Scottish national rugby team. He was a reserve player for Scotland in the 2013 Six Nations tournament. He later became a starting player in the final two games. Scotland finished third in that championship.
He was the starting fly-half for Scotland in the 2014 Six Nations. He scored a winning drop-goal in the last minute against Italy. This was Scotland's first win in Rome since 2006.
Duncan was called up to the Scotland squad again for the 2017 Six Nations Championship. He also joined the squad in 2019 and 2020 for the Six Nations. This was because of his strong performance with Worcester Warriors.
