Cathkin High School is a public secondary school located in Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It's a place where students aged 11 to 18 go to learn and grow. The school is part of the Greater Glasgow area.

School History and Buildings

Cathkin High School first opened its doors in November 1970. It cost about £1.25 million to build. A politician named Peggy Herbison officially opened the school. Around the same time, new homes were built nearby in an area called Whitlawburn.

Moving to a New Campus

The original school building was replaced in 2008. A brand new campus was built right next to the old one. This new campus also has a nursery for younger children and a special school called Rutherglen High School.

After the new school opened, the old buildings were taken down. New houses were then built on that land. These new homes are part of the Cathkin Rise estate.
