Dutch, West Virginia facts for kids
Dutch is a small, quiet place in Braxton County, West Virginia, in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community," which means it's a group of homes and people living together, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does.
History of Dutch
The community of Dutch got its name from a person! A post office was opened there in 1913. This post office was named after Bailus "Dutch" Allen. He was the father of the person who first ran the post office in Dutch. The post office stayed open for many years, finally closing in 1943.
