Dutchtown is a small place in New Jersey. It is not a city or a town with its own government. Instead, it is called an unincorporated community. This means it is part of a larger area, Montgomery Township, in Somerset County.
What is Dutchtown Like?
Dutchtown is mostly covered by forests. You will find some houses here, especially around the main crossroads. These roads are called Dutchtown-Zion Road and Belle Mead-Blawenberg Road. The Belle Mead-Blawenberg Road is also known as County Route 601.
This community is located in the northern part of Montgomery Township. If you visit, you might also see the Unionville Cemetery. There is also a rock quarry nearby.
A Historic Home
One important building in Dutchtown is the Dirck Gulick House. This old house has a special history. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. This means it is recognized as an important historical site.
