Duwayne Ewart's Soccer Journey
Starting in Youth Soccer
Duwayne Ewart started playing soccer when he was young in Scarborough, Canada. He then joined the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy, which is a special training program for talented young players.
Later, he moved to Vaughan SC. In 2015, he even played for their senior team, Vaughan Azzurri, in a league called League1 Ontario. He scored a goal in one of his games against Sigma FC.
Playing Professionally with Pittsburgh Riverhounds
On March 27, 2016, Duwayne took a big step in his career. He signed a professional contract with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. This team plays in the United Soccer League in the United States.
Duwayne made his first professional appearance on May 21, 2016. His team won that game 2–1 against Toronto FC II.
Playing for Canada
Representing His Country
Duwayne has also played for Canada's national youth soccer teams. In 2013, he was chosen for the Canadian Under-15 (U15) team. They played in a tournament called the 2013 Copa de México de Naciones.
He also played for the Canadian U-17 team in 2015. This was for the 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championship. Duwayne was the top goal scorer for his team in that tournament!
In August 2016, Duwayne was invited to play for the Canadian Under-20 (U20) team. He played in two friendly games against Costa Rica.
Family Roots in Jamaica
Duwayne also has family connections to Jamaica. His father was born in Clarendon, and his mother was born in Kingston. This means he could also play for the Jamaican national team if he chose to.
