Playing Career
Early Soccer Days
Duwayne started playing soccer when he was young in Scarborough, Canada. He later joined the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy, which is a special training program for talented young players. After that, he played for Vaughan SC. In 2015, he even played for their senior team, Vaughan Azzurri, in a league called League1 Ontario. During that time, he scored a goal against Sigma FC.
Professional Debut
On March 27, 2016, Duwayne Ewart signed a professional contract with Pittsburgh Riverhounds. This team plays in the United Soccer League in the United States. He made his first professional appearance on May 21, 2016. His team won that game 2–1 against Toronto FC II.
International Soccer
Representing Canada
Duwayne has played for Canada's national youth teams. In 2013, he was part of the U15 national team for a tournament called the 2013 Copa de México de Naciones.
He also played for the Canadian U-17 team in the 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championship. He was the top goal scorer for his team in that tournament.
In August 2016, Duwayne was chosen to play for the U-20 team. He played in two friendly matches against the Costa Rica U-20 team.
Family Roots
Duwayne can also play for the Jamaica national team. This is because his father was born in Clarendon, and his mother was born in Kingston, both in Jamaica.
