Dušan Petrović (born September 8, 1966) is a Serbian politician. He used to be a very important person in the Serbian government. He served as the Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management. This was from 2011 to 2012. Before that, he was the Minister of Justice from 2007 to 2008.
He was a long-time member of the Democratic Party. Later, he led a new party called Together for Serbia. He was the chairman of this party from 2013 to 2016.

About Dušan Petrović
Early Life and Education
Dušan Petrović grew up in Šabac, his hometown. He finished both elementary and high school there. After that, he went to the University of Belgrade. He studied law at the University of Belgrade's Law School. He became a lawyer after finishing his studies.
Career as a Lawyer and Mayor
From 1992 to 2000, Dušan Petrović worked as a lawyer. He helped people with legal issues. In 2000, he became the mayor of Šabac. He served as mayor until 2004. During this time, he was also a deputy. A deputy is like a representative for the people. He worked in the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
Political Journey and Leadership Roles
Petrović joined the Democratic Party in 1992. He started as a local council member in Šabac in 1996. He then moved up in the party. In 2000, he became a member of the party's Presidency. This is a group of important leaders.
He became one of the party's vice-presidents in 2006. Later that year, he became the deputy president. He worked closely with the party's chairman, Boris Tadić.
Role in the National Assembly
In 2003, Dušan Petrović was elected to the National Assembly of Serbia. This is Serbia's main law-making body. He led the group of deputies from the Democratic Party. From 2003 to 2007, he was also the vice-president of the Assembly.
Serving as a Minister
After the 2007 elections, there were many talks. Different political parties worked together to form a government. Dušan Petrović became the Minister of Justice. He served in this role from 2007 to 2008. He was part of the government led by Vojislav Koštunica. Later, he became the Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management. He held this position from 2011 to 2012.
