Dwayne Jones' Early Life

Dwayne Jones was born in Morgantown, West Virginia. He grew up in Chester, Pennsylvania. He finished high school at American Christian School in Aston, Pennsylvania in 2001.

Playing Basketball in College

Dwayne Jones played college basketball for Saint Joseph's University. He was a very important player for the team.

In 2004, his team had an amazing season. They did not lose a single game during the regular season! They made it to the NCAA Tournament, which is a big competition for college teams. They almost reached the Final Four, which is the last stage of the tournament. Their final record was 30 wins and only 2 losses, which was the best in their school's history.

In the 2004–05 season, Dwayne was named the best defensive player in his conference, called the Atlantic 10. He was also on the All-Defensive Team for the second year in a row. He was great at getting rebounds (catching the ball after a missed shot) and blocks (stopping an opponent's shot). He was among the top players in the country for both.

Dwayne had his best season for scoring points, averaging 10.1 points per game. He also set a personal record with 16 rebounds in a game. On February 19, 2005, he achieved a "triple-double." This means he got double-digit numbers (10 or more) in three different stats in one game: 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 blocks. This was a rare achievement for his team.
