The Dâmboviţa River is an important river in Romania. It begins high up in the Făgăraş Mountains. The river starts where two smaller streams, called Valea Vladului and Boarcăşu, meet.
From its source, the Dâmboviţa River flows south. It travels a long way, passing right through the capital city of Bucharest. After flowing for about 258 kilometers, it joins another river called the Argeş River. This meeting point is near a town called Budeşti in Călăraşi County. The Romanian county of Dâmboviţa County is actually named after this very river!
