Evan Sewell Wallace (born November 1, 1982 – died February 13, 2017) was an American rapper. He was better known by his stage name E-Dubble. People sometimes called him e-dubble or just e-dub. He became famous for his "Freestyle Friday" series. In this series, he released a new song every Friday throughout 2010. He also started his own music company, Black Paisley Records.

During his career, E-Dubble released several music projects. These included two studio albums: Hip Hop Is Good (2009) and Two Tone Rebel (2016). He also released an EP (a shorter album) called Reset EP (2012). He worked with the band 27 Lights on an EP called Surrounded By Giants (2014). His first music project was a mixtape called Straight Outta St. Mary's (2006).

Early Life and Music Beginnings

Evan Wallace grew up near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest child in his family. His mom was a schoolteacher who also taught music. In the 1990s, Evan and his friends loved hip-hop music. Artists like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre inspired them.

Evan started rapping when he was only 8 years old. But he didn't become widely known right away. He felt a bit unsure about his rapping skills. Later, his music often showed his deep love for hip-hop. He played basketball in high school, but his real dream was to be a professional rapper. He once said that Eminem becoming famous in the late 90s really inspired him.

College and First Songs

While at St. Mary's College of Maryland, Evan joined a music group. The group was called Irishtoothache. He made his first song with them in 2003. He kept making songs with this group until 2010.

Evan graduated from college with a degree in political science. His mixtape, Straight Outta St. Mary's, came out in 2006. He wrote this mixtape with Glaze, who was also in Irishtoothache.

Young English and Freestyle Friday

After college, E-Dubble moved to Baltimore. He lived with his friends and fellow musicians there. They formed a hip-hop band called Young English. Their first show was in July 2008. The group bought an old warehouse and fixed it up. They called it "The Hampden Mansion." This is where E-Dubble wrote, recorded, and produced his first album. His debut album, Hip-Hop is Good, was released in October 2009.

The YouTube Series

In August 2010, E-Dubble started his YouTube channel. He then began his famous "Freestyle Friday" series. This was a weekly series where he released a new song for free.

The first "Freestyle Friday" song came out on February 5, 2010. A new song was released every Friday after that. This continued until February 3, 2011. These songs were not true freestyle raps. They were carefully written and produced songs. Sometimes, he worked with his band Young English on these tracks. A final song for the series, "Last Man Standing," was released in 2012.

The series was known for its clever use of samples and lyrics. E-Dubble also added spoken messages at the end of his songs. He used these to talk directly with his listeners. Making a new song every week was a lot of work.

Later Music

His EP, Reset EP, was released in November 2012. Fans really liked it. This EP focused on his recovery after the busy "Freestyle Friday" period. He released his last album, "Two Tone Rebel," in 2016.

Passing Away

Evan Wallace passed away on February 13, 2017. He died from an infection that started in his hand and spread through his body. He is buried in the Abington Presbyterian Church.
