What Makes the E235 Series Special?
The E235 series trains are designed to be very modern and efficient. They replaced older trains like the E231 series on the Yamanote Line. These new trains have many features that make them comfortable and useful for passengers.
Smart Technology Inside
One cool thing about the E235 series is its smart technology. The trains use a system called "inter-car information transmission." This helps different parts of the train talk to each other. It makes the train run smoothly and helps with maintenance.
The trains also have many digital screens. These screens show advertisements and useful information for passengers. You can see them above the doors and in other places inside the train cars.
Comfort for Passengers
The E235 series trains are made to be comfortable for everyone. They have special seats for people who need them, like those with wheelchairs or strollers. There are also security cameras inside to help keep everyone safe.
Some versions of the E235 series, like those for the Yokosuka Line, even have special "Green cars." These are like first-class cars with more comfortable, bi-level seating.
Where Do These Trains Run?
The E235 series trains are mainly known for running on two important lines:
Yamanote Line Service
The first E235 series trains were introduced on the Yamanote Line. This is a very busy loop line that goes around central Tokyo. It connects many major stations and is used by millions of people every day. The E235 trains help keep this vital line running smoothly.
Yokosuka Line Service
Later, a different version of the E235 series was made for the Yokosuka Line. This line connects Tokyo with areas to the south, including Yokohama. These trains are designed for longer journeys and have features like the Green cars.
