Earnest J. Wilson III was born on March 30, 1965. He is an American football coach. Currently, he works as the chief of staff for the Temple Owls team. He started this job in 2024. Before this, he was a head coach for several football teams. These included the Minnesota North College – Vermilion, the Arkansas Attack in Major League Football, Savannah State University, Elizabeth City State University, and Defiance College.
Coaching Career Highlights
Earnest Wilson began his coaching journey in 1990. His first coaching job was at Allegheny College. The football team there, the 1990 Allegheny Gators football team, even won a national championship that year! It was the NCAA Division III Football Championship.
In May 2022, Wilson left his head coach position at Defiance College. Soon after, it was announced that he would become a head coach for Major League Football for their 2022 season.
In 2023, Wilson became the head football coach at Minnesota North College – Vermilion. He led the Ironhawks team to a 1–6 record during the 2023 season.
On June 4, 2024, Wilson was hired by the Temple Owls. He took on the role of chief of staff for their football team.
