The East Fork Salmon River is a small river in Oregon, a state in the United States. It's located in Clackamas County. This river is a "tributary," which means it's a smaller stream that flows into a bigger one. The East Fork Salmon River flows into the Salmon River.

Where the River Starts

This river begins high up on the southern side of Mount Hood. Mount Hood is a very tall mountain. The river starts at an elevation of about 4,300 feet (1,300 meters) above sea level.

Its Journey Downstream

From its starting point, the East Fork Salmon River flows generally towards the southwest. It travels until it reaches a place called Red Top Meadow. This is where it joins the main Salmon River. Red Top Meadow is also very close to Trillium Lake, a beautiful lake in the area.

Inside Mount Hood National Forest

The entire path of the East Fork Salmon River is inside the Mount Hood National Forest. This is a large, protected area with lots of trees and wildlife. It's a great place for nature and outdoor activities.

No Named Streams Join It
