East Geelong is a friendly residential area, or "suburb," located in the city of Geelong, in Victoria, Australia. In 2016, about 3,862 people called East Geelong home.
The local post office in East Geelong first opened its doors on June 6, 1921. Before that, an older post office from 1871 was later renamed Moolap West.
East Geelong is home to the large 81-hectare Eastern Park. This park is Geelong's main regional park. It is a very important place for fun and relaxation in central Geelong. The beautiful Geelong Botanic Gardens are found right in the middle of Eastern Park.
If you like sports, East Geelong has an Australian Rules football team. They play in the Geelong & District Football League. Golfers can also enjoy a game at the East Geelong Golf Club, which is located at Eastern Gardens.
