East Liberty, Delaware County, Ohio facts for kids
East Liberty is a small, unincorporated community located in Delaware County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. An unincorporated community means it's a group of homes and businesses that don't have their own local government, but are part of a larger county.
History of East Liberty
East Liberty was first planned and set up in the year 1840. When a town is "laid out," it means its streets and building lots are mapped and prepared for people to settle there. However, this community was built away from the main railroad lines. In those days, railroads were super important for moving goods and people. Because East Liberty wasn't near a railroad, it was harder for the community to grow and become a big town.
