This former community was situated on a high ridge. This ridge is now followed by Farm Road 147. This road is part of the very scenic Glade Top Trail. The area is also within the large Mark Twain National Forest.

Eastview had a post office that served the community. This post office first opened its doors in 1901. It helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1928. After it closed, the community slowly faded away.

Why the Name Eastview?

The name "Eastview" was chosen for a simple reason. The community was located at a very high spot. From this elevated position, people could enjoy a wide view, especially towards the east. This beautiful outlook inspired its name.
