Ebony Salmon (born 27 January 2001) is a talented English footballer. She plays as a forward for Women's Super League club Aston Villa. Ebony also represents the England national team and the under-23 team. She started her journey in football at the Aston Villa academy. Before returning to Aston Villa, she played for several other clubs. These include Sheffield United, Bristol City, Racing Louisville, and Houston Dash. Ebony has even been a captain for England's under-17 and under-23 teams. She made her first appearance for the senior England team in February 2021.

Club Career Highlights
Ebony Salmon has played for several exciting clubs throughout her career. Let's look at her journey.
Starting at Aston Villa
Ebony spent three years learning and growing at the Aston Villa academy. In the 2017–18 season, she joined the first team. They played in the WSL 2 league.
Her first game was on 8 October 2017, against Sheffield. A month later, she scored her first goal for Aston Villa. This helped her team win 4–0 against Watford. She also scored in a cup game against Sheffield.
Ebony scored two goals in one game for the first time on 7 January 2018. This was in a 3–3 draw against the London Bees. She ended the season with seven goals in 12 league games.
Time with Manchester United
On 1 July 2018, Ebony joined the new Manchester United team. They were playing in the FA Women's Championship. She later moved to Sheffield United on loan. This was until the end of the season. She didn't play any games for Manchester United before leaving.
Loan to Sheffield United
Ebony made her debut for Sheffield United on 6 January 2019. She came on as a substitute in a game against Tottenham Hotspur. On her birthday, 27 January, she scored her first goal for the club. It was a penalty in the last minute of the game. She scored two goals in a single game again on 11 May. This helped Sheffield United win 6–0 against Millwall.
Playing for Bristol City
On 15 July 2019, Ebony signed with Bristol City. She made her first appearance for them on 7 September 2019. This was in a 0–0 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion. On 5 January 2020, she scored the only goal in a 1–0 win against her old club, Manchester United. This was Bristol City's first win of the season.
Ebony was Bristol City's top goal scorer in the 2019–20 FA WSL season. She scored five league goals and eight goals overall. Bristol City avoided being moved down to a lower league that season. The next season, she scored 10 goals in total, but Bristol City was relegated. She left the club in May 2021.
Moving to Racing Louisville
After leaving Bristol City, Ebony signed a two-year contract with Racing Louisville. This team was new to the NWSL in the United States. She made her debut on 20 June. She scored the winning goal just 74 seconds after coming onto the field! It was a 1–0 win against Houston Dash. In her first season, Ebony was the team's top league goal scorer. She had six goals in 20 games.
Joining Houston Dash
In 2022, Ebony's playing time at Racing Louisville decreased. She was traded to Houston Dash on 27 June 2022. This was a big move, and Houston Dash signed her for another year. Ebony said she wanted to show what she could do on the field.
Back to Aston Villa
On 8 September 2023, it was announced that Ebony had returned to Aston Villa. She signed a three-year deal. In the 2023–24 season, she scored a goal in a 2-1 away victory against Everton.
International Career
Ebony has also played for England at different levels.
Youth Teams
On 28 April 2017, Ebony played her first game for the England Under-17s. In her third game, she scored two goals against the United States. She helped England qualify for the 2018 U17 Championship. She scored against Latvia and Slovakia.
In May 2018, Ebony was the captain for England at the U17 Championship. She scored against Spain. She then scored three goals in just 18 minutes against Italy. This helped England reach the knockout rounds. England finished fourth in the tournament.
On 3 April 2019, Ebony joined the under-19 squad. She scored two goals against Turkey. She also scored in the 2019 U19 Championship against Belgium. In October 2019, she scored in every group match for the 2020 U19 Championship qualification. She scored against Cyprus, Serbia, and two against Belarus. The 2020 U19 Championship was later cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe.
On 12 October 2021, Ebony captained the Under-23 team. They won 1–0 against Belgium. She also played in an 11–0 win against Estonia. In February 2022, she scored two goals against France. On 8 April, she captained the U23 team again in a 0–0 draw against Netherlands. From October to December 2023, Ebony played in the new U23 European League.
Senior Team

In February 2021, Ebony was called up to the senior international team for the first time. She made her debut on 23 February. She came on as a substitute in a 6–0 friendly win against Northern Ireland. In August 2022, she was chosen for the 2023 World Cup qualification matches.
Ebony was given the legacy number 219 by the FA. This was to celebrate 50 years of England's first international game.
