The History of Economy, Indiana
How Economy Got Its Name
The town of Economy was first planned and mapped out in 1825. It was named by the person who owned the land, Charles Osborn. He thought that dividing his land into small lots was the smartest and most "economical" way to sell it. That's how the town got its unique name!
