Eczacıbaşı Holding is a large Turkish group of companies that started in 1942. It's like a big family of businesses working together. As of 2023, the group has over 13,500 employees and runs 40 factories. They make a total of 33 billion Turkish Liras in sales each year.

What Eczacıbaşı Does
Eczacıbaşı works in several main areas. They make products for buildings, like bathroom tiles and fixtures. They also produce medicines and everyday items you use at home. Another important area is getting natural resources from the earth. Besides these, the group is involved in finance and real estate.
Eczacıbaşı has large networks across Turkey to deliver medicines, building products, and common household goods. Around the world, they are famous for their VitrA brand, which makes bathroom and tile products. They also export things like tissue paper, medicines, and raw materials such as clay and zinc.
Growing internationally is a big part of Eczacıbaşı's plan. In the last 20 years, they have bought other well-known brands and built new factories in different countries. In 2022, more than half of their sales (59%) came from outside Turkey.
About the Founder
Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı (1913–1993) started the Eczacıbaşı Group. He believed that a successful business should help make society better and more prosperous.
His father, Süleyman Ferit Eczacıbaşı, was the first university-trained pharmacist in Izmir. In 1909, he was given the title "chief pharmacist" (which is baş eczacı in Turkish). When a law about surnames came out in 1934, Süleyman Ferit chose "Eczacıbaşı" as his family name.

Education Projects
- Hygiene Project for Primary Boarding Schools: This project helps make bathrooms and showers in boarding schools clean and healthy for students. They use products from VitrA and Artema. So far, they have helped 57 schools in 42 cities, benefiting almost 20,000 students.
- Selpak Hygiene Classes: The Selpak brand organizes classes about personal hygiene for primary school students across Turkey. Over 6 million students have learned from this program since 2002.
- Music Scholarships: The Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı Foundation gives scholarships to talented young Turkish musicians. This helps them study music abroad.
- Primary School Sponsorship: The Eczacıbaşı Group has built four primary schools and provides money for them every year. About 4,200 students attend these schools.
- Eczacıbaşı Sports School: This school teaches volleyball to young girls aged 6-12.
- Reproductive Health Hotline: In 2000, Eczacıbaşı Pharmaceuticals Marketing helped set up a free, 24-hour phone line to give information about reproductive health.
Sports Achievements
The Eczacıbaşı Sports Club started in 1966 to encourage young people to play sports. Today, it focuses only on women's volleyball.
The Eczacıbaşı Dynavit Women's Volleyball Team is very successful. They have won Turkey's National Championships many times. They were also the first team to win the FIVB Women's Club World Championship two times in a row (in 2015 and 2016). They have won 28 National Championships and 9 National Cups. In 1999, they won the "European Cup Winner's Cup."
The club also has a program called "Future Spike." It started in 2016 to help more young girls play volleyball. In 2018, the Eczacıbaşı Sports Club received the International Olympic Committee's Women and Sports World Trophy. This award recognized their success in women's volleyball and for helping thousands of young girls get into the sport for over 50 years.
Arts and Culture
- Istanbul Museum of Modern Art: Eczacıbaşı Group helped start Istanbul Modern, which is Turkey's first privately funded museum for modern art. They provided the first money and many of the artworks. The museum shows Turkish art and also hosts exhibitions of famous artists from around the world. It has welcomed 8.5 million visitors and given free art education to 850,000 children and young people. The new museum building was designed by a famous architect named Renzo Piano.
- Istanbul International Festivals: Eczacıbaşı Group supports the Istanbul International Music, Film, Jazz, and Theatre Festivals. They have been a main sponsor since 2006, helping these festivals become well-known internationally.
- Eczacıbaşı Youth Ticket: This project started in 2022 to help young people go to art events. Students can buy tickets for only 10 Turkish Liras. In 2022, over 40,000 tickets were sold for nearly 600 different events.
- VitrA Ceramic Arts Studio: This studio was started in 1957 to support ceramic artists and help people appreciate ceramic art. It hosts artists, exhibitions, and workshops.
- Eczacıbaşı Photographers Series: This project publishes books each year featuring the work of important Turkish photographers.
- Eczacıbaşı Arts Encyclopedia: Published in 1997, this is a three-volume book about international art and architecture. It especially focuses on art from different periods in Turkish history.

Medical Awards
In 1959, Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı started an award program to recognize and support good medical research in Turkey. These awards are given out every two years. They have given many awards for medical science, research projects, and even projects by medical students. In 2022, a new award for "Personalized Medicine" was added.
Turkish Informatics Foundation
