Eddy is a small, unincorporated community located in Kay County, Oklahoma, USA. It's found about seven miles southwest of the town of Blackwell.
History of Eddy
This community was originally known as Osborne. However, its name was officially changed to Eddy on January 3, 1901. The new name, "Eddy," was chosen to honor Ed E. Peckham. His father, E.L. Peckham, was a well-known railroad developer. For many years, Eddy had its own post office, which served the local residents. This post office operated until it finally closed its doors on February 22, 1957.
