Eddy was well-known for his strong performances in the Tour de France. He won four stages in this major race. He also wore the famous yellow jersey for four days, which means he was the overall leader of the race at those times. In 1962, he received the combativity award in the Tour de France for being the most aggressive rider. Eddy Pauwels passed away at the age of 81.
