Her Artistic Journey

Edith Frohock was an important part of the Mississippi Art Colony. This group helps artists learn and grow. In 1984, Edith was the main teacher there. The Smithsonian Institution says this Colony is the oldest group of its kind run by artists in the whole country!

Edith's friends and family created a special award in her honor. It's called the "Edith Frohock Scholarship." This scholarship helps art students at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Students who are doing well in their art studies can receive it. When Edith retired, another artist named Sara Garden Armstrong took over her teaching role.
