Edivaldo Martins Fonseca (born April 13, 1962 – died January 13, 1993) was a talented Brazilian football player. He was known for playing as a Striker, which means he was usually in charge of scoring goals. Edivaldo played for several big clubs in Brazil and even in other countries. He also represented his home country, Brazil, on their national football team.

Edivaldo's Club Career
Edivaldo started his professional football journey in 1982. He played for some of Brazil's most famous teams.
Playing for Atlético Mineiro and São Paulo
Edivaldo played for Atlético Mineiro multiple times during his career. His first time there was from 1984 to 1986. Later, he returned to the club in 1992. He also spent a significant part of his career with São Paulo. He played for São Paulo from 1987 to 1990. During his time with these clubs, he played in Brazil's top league, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.
Playing Abroad
Edivaldo also had the chance to play football outside of Brazil. In the 1990-1991 season, he played for Puebla in Mexico. This team competed in the Primera División, which is Mexico's highest football league. After that, in 1992, he moved to Japan. There, he joined Gamba Osaka and played in the J. League 1.
Other Clubs
Besides these major clubs, Edivaldo also played for Taquaritinga early in his career in 1983. He returned to Taquaritinga in 1993, which was his last club. He also had a short period playing for Palmeiras in 1991.
Edivaldo's International Career
Edivaldo was a proud member of the Brazil national team. He played for his country between 1986 and 1989.
Representing Brazil
He played a total of three matches for the Brazilian national team. One of his biggest achievements was being part of the Brazilian squad for the 1986 FIFA World Cup.
