Edson spent most of his professional football career playing in Japan. He joined several different clubs there, showing his skills as a midfielder.
Playing for Yomiuri
From 1986 to 1990, Edson played for a team called Yomiuri. This club was part of the top football league in Japan at the time, the Japan Soccer League Division 1. During these years, he played in many matches and helped his team.
Time with Fujita Industries and Bellmare Hiratsuka
After Yomiuri, Edson moved to Fujita Industries. He played for them from 1990 to 1995. The team later changed its name to Bellmare Hiratsuka. He played in both the second division and later in the top division, the J1 League. He was an important player for them, scoring goals and helping his team win.
Later Career with Yokogawa Electric
