Eduardo Arana Ysa (born 18 October 1965) is a Peruvian politician and lawyer. He has been the Prime Minister of Peru since May 2025. Before this important role, he served as the Minister of Justice and Human Rights from September 2023 to May 2025.

Education and Legal Career
Eduardo Arana Ysa was born on October 18, 1965. He attended the Don Bosco Salesian School in Callao, graduating in 1982. He studied Law and Political Science at the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University. Since 2000, he has been a professor at the Federico Villarreal National University.
Early Legal Work
Arana worked as an advisor for Javier Villa Stein. Villa Stein was the president of the Judiciary from 2009 to 2011. Arana also served as an arbitrator for the Supervisory Body for State Contracts (OSCE). He was also the secretary of the National Council of the Judiciary.
Political Journey
Arana started his political career by running for a position in the San Isidro district. He was a candidate for the Alliance for Progress in the 2018 local elections. However, he was not elected at that time. Later, he worked as an advisor on justice and education topics. He advised during the time that Gladys Echaíz was a Congresswoman and former Attorney General.
Minister of Justice and Human Rights
On September 6, 2023, President Dina Boluarte appointed Eduardo Arana as the new Minister of Justice and Human Rights. He took over from Daniel Maurate. Arana served in this role until May 2025. He announced his resignation on April 13, 2025. Soon after, President Boluarte appointed him as the Prime Minister. This happened after Gustavo Adrianzén resigned from the position.
