Edward Nevill (born around 1705 – died 9 October 1724) was an English nobleman. He held the title of Baron Bergavenny for a short time.
Who Was Edward Nevill?
Edward Nevill was the son of George Nevill, who was the 13th Baron Bergavenny, and his mother Anne Walker. He became a baron, which is a noble title, when his older brother, George Nevill, 14th Baron Bergavenny, passed away on 15 November 1723. His brother did not have any children, so the title went to Edward.
His Short Life
On 6 May 1724, Edward Nevill married Katherine Tatton. She was the daughter of a military leader named Lieutenant-General William Tatton. Sadly, Edward died later that same year, on 9 October 1724. He also did not have any children.
What Happened to the Title?
After Edward's death, the title of Baron Bergavenny went to his cousin, William Nevill, 16th Baron Bergavenny. Interestingly, William Nevill later married Edward's widow, Katherine Tatton.
