El Toralín facts for kids
The Bercian Association in Defense of the Leonese Language "El Toralín" (called Asociación Berciana en defensa de la Llingua Llïonesa El Toralín in Leonese language) was a group from El Bierzo. It worked to protect and promote the Leonese language in that area. The association started in 2006.

What Did the Association Do?
Teaching Leonese Language
The association offered two courses to teach the Leonese language. These classes were held in Ponferrada, a city in the Province of Llión.
Spreading the Word
They also organized special campaigns. These campaigns helped more people learn about the Leonese language in the region. The goal was to make sure the language stayed alive and well.
Joining Special Events
The association took part in important events. This included the Leonese Language Day. They also celebrated Mother Language Day, which is a worldwide event.
Helping with Books
The group worked on different publications too. One example is a book called "Cuentos del Sil". Writers from the area wrote simple stories for this book. All the stories were written in the Leonese language. This helped share the language through fun tales.
