El Vol del Pollastre facts for kids
El Vol del Pollastre is a performing arts company. It started in December 2009 in Banyoles, a town in Pla de l'Estany, Spain. This company creates and performs different kinds of shows.
They have helped organize big events in Banyoles. For example, they promoted the Banyoles carnival from 2010 to 2013. They also helped with the fourth "Fira del Món del Foc" (Fire World Fair) in Banyoles in 2014. Besides these, they have done many smaller performances for cultural events in the city.
Amazing Stage Plays
In 2011, El Vol del Pollastre showed their first full play. It was called Júlia? and was performed at the Teatre Municipal de Banyoles. Clàudia Cedó directed this play. It was an original story, but it got ideas from the famous book 1984 by George Orwell. The company described Júlia? as a tragicomedy, which means it has both funny and sad parts. It was all about social networks.
Their second play came out in 2013. It was named De petits tots matàvem formigues, which means We all used to kill ants when we were kids. Clàudia Cedó also directed this play. It was shown at Factoria d'Arts Escèniques in Banyoles. This play was also an original story. It was a western with a bit of Film noir style.
Both Júlia? and De petits tots matàvem formigues were also performed in Girona. Júlia? was shown at Centre Cultural la Mercè. De petits tots matàvem formigues was performed at Sala La Planeta.
Awards and Recognition
El Vol del Pollastre has won awards for their work. In 2014, their play De petits tots matàvem formigues received two important awards. These were given at the 11th "Premios Buero de Teatro Joven" (Buero Awards for Young Theater).
- First Prize (Catalunya): This was for the play De petits tots matàvem formigues.
- Best Set Design (Catalunya): This award was also for De petits tots matàvem formigues. It recognized the amazing design of the stage and scenery.
