Banyoles (pronounced ba-NYO-les) is a cool city in northeastern Catalonia, Spain. About 20,000 people live there. It's located in the province of Girona.
This city is the main town of a region called "Pla de l'Estany" in Catalonia. Even though Banyoles has its own industries, many people travel to the nearby city of Girona for work. Girona is only about 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) away.
