Elba, Ohio facts for kids
Elba is a small place where people live in Washington County, Ohio. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own city government or mayor. Instead, it's looked after by the county government. Elba is located in the eastern part of Ohio.
History of Elba
Elba got its name from a famous island called Elba in the Mediterranean Sea. This island is well-known because Napoleon Bonaparte, a famous French leader, was once sent there.
A post office was opened in Elba in 1871. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years, finally closing its doors in 1984.
