Elco is a small place in Illinois, United States. It's called an "unincorporated community," which means it's a neighborhood or village that doesn't have its own local government, like a mayor or city council. Instead, it's part of the larger Alexander County government. You can find Elco in the southern part of Illinois, along Illinois Route 127. It's located north of another town called Tamms. For many years, Elco had its own post office, where people could send and receive mail, but it closed on January 24, 1998.
