Tamms is a village in Alexander County, Illinois, United States. The population was 632 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cape Girardeau–Jackson, MO-IL Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Tamms was established under the name of Idlewild in 1883.
Tamms is located at 37°14′25″N 89°15′53″W / 37.24028°N 89.26472°W (37.240207, -89.264822).
According to the 2010 census, Tamms has a total area of 2.33 square miles (6.03 km2), all land.
