Eldredge, Colorado facts for kids
Eldredge is a small place in Ouray County, Colorado, United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Eldredge is found along the Uncompahgre River.
You can find Eldredge between two other places in Ouray County: Colona and Ridgway. It's also north of Ridgway State Park and sits right on U.S. Route 550, a main road in Colorado.
Where is Eldredge Located?
Eldredge is in a narrow valley, which is like a long, low area of land between hills or mountains. To the south of Eldredge, you'll find the Ridgway Reservoir and the entrance to Ridgway State Park. The Ridgway Reservoir is a large lake created by a dam.
North of Eldredge is the Uncompahgre Valley. A big, steep hill runs through most of Eldredge. This hill slopes up from the Uncompahgre River. The community's southern edge is marked by Cow Creek, which is part of the Uncompahgre River area. The northern edge is where the valley ends.
