Eleanor Joanne Daley (born April 21, 1955) is a talented Canadian composer. She writes music for choirs and church music. Eleanor is also a choir director, a choral expert, and an accompanist (someone who plays music with a performer). She lives and works in Toronto, Ontario. Some of her most famous pieces are The Rose Trilogy and Requiem.

Growing Up and Learning Music
Eleanor Daley was born in Parry Sound, Ontario. She loved music from a young age. She went to Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. There, she earned a special degree in playing the organ. She also got diplomas for playing the piano and organ. Eleanor even studied music in both Canada and England.
Her Amazing Career as a Composer
Eleanor Daley is a very busy composer. Many choirs and arts groups in North America and Europe have asked her to write new music for them. This is called being "commissioned."

In 2014, a huge choir of 400 voices performed her song "I Sing a Maiden" in New York. This was part of a celebration for International Women's Day.
Eleanor Daley continues to create beautiful music. Her piece "My Master from a Garden Rose" has been recorded by the Genesis Ensemble. As of 2018, she works as the music and choir director at Fairlawn Avenue United Church. She also plays for the Bach Children's Chorus.
In 2022, Eleanor Daley received a very high honor. She was appointed to the Order of Canada. This award recognized her important contributions to Canadian music and choir culture as a well-known composer and accompanist.
