Eleanor Marion Bennett, born on February 4, 1942, is an Australian botanist. A botanist is a scientist who studies plants. She worked at the Western Australian Herbarium from 1965 to 1970. During her time there, she collected different types of Eucalyptus plants. These plants are often called gum trees. She found them in the south-west part of Western Australia.
In 1972, she published an important study about a plant group called Hybanthus. Eleanor Bennett also wrote two books. One book is named Bushland Plants of Kings Park, Western Australia. The other is called Common and aboriginal names of Western Australian plant species. She also helped write a larger book, Flora of the Perth region, which describes all the plants in that area.
