Electra Waggoner Biggs (born November 8, 1912 – died April 23, 2001) was a talented artist from Texas. She was also an heiress, meaning she inherited a lot of wealth, and a socialite, someone who was well-known in society. She owned the famous Waggoner Ranch in Texas.

Electra Biggs became very famous for her sculptures. She created amazing statues of important people like Will Rogers, Presidents Dwight Eisenhower and Harry Truman, and even Bob Hope.

Did you know that two famous things were named after her? The Lockheed L-188 Electra turboprop airplane and the Buick Electra car both got their names from Electra Biggs! Her brother-in-law, Harlow H. Curtice, who used to be the head of Buick and later General Motors, named the car after her.

Electra Biggs was born on November 8, 1912. She was named after her aunt, Electra Waggoner. The town of Electra, Texas is also named after her aunt.

Electra's father, E. Paul Waggoner, was an heir to the huge Waggoner Ranch in Texas. Her mother, Helen, was a well-known socialite.

Electra grew up in a very wealthy family. She went to Miss Wright's Boarding School in Pennsylvania. There, she discovered her love for art. Later, she studied sculpture in New York and at the Sorbonne in Paris, France.

She became a very well-known sculptor. A large collection of her artworks can be seen at the Red River Valley Museum in Vernon, Texas.

Electra Biggs married Gordon Bowman in 1933, but they divorced two years later. Her second husband was John Biggs. He worked for a company called International Paper. Together, they had two daughters: Helen Biggs Willingham and Electra (Ellie) Biggs Moulder.

Besides living at the Waggoner Ranch, Electra Biggs also had a home in Dallas. It was designed by a famous local architect named Anton Korn.

She passed away on April 23, 2001.
