Elena Anaya Gutiérrez (born on July 17, 1975) is a famous Spanish actress. She is known for her roles in many movies, both in Spain and around the world.
Elena became well-known in Spain for her acting in ... and Lucia (2001). This role also earned her a nomination for a Goya Award. She later won the Goya Award for Best Actress for her work in The Skin I Live In (2011). You might also know her from movies like Van Helsing (2004) where she played one of Dracula's brides. She was also the Spanish tourist in Room in Rome (2010) and Doctor Poison in Wonder Woman (2017).
Early Life and Beginnings
Elena Anaya was born in Palencia, Spain. She is the youngest of three children in her family. Her mother, Elena, was a housewife who later ran a boarding house. Her father, Juan José Anaya Gómez, was an industrial engineer.
Elena moved to Cádiz to study acting. After her training, she started getting roles in films like África and Familia.
Becoming a Star
Elena first gained international attention in 2001. This was for her role in the drama ... and Lucia. The next year, she had a small part in the film Talk to Her.
Her most famous role in a Hollywood film was as Aleera. She played one of Dracula's brides in the 2004 movie Van Helsing. In the same year, Elena was recognized as one of Europe's "Shooting Stars." This award highlights talented new actors.
