Elena Hight grew up in Hawaii, but she later moved to South Lake Tahoe, California. This is a great place for snowboarding. She became a professional snowboarder in 2002. Since then, she has been known for her daring moves and impressive style on the halfpipe.
Amazing Tricks and Records
Elena Hight has made history with her snowboarding tricks. In May 2012, she became the first snowboarder to land a special trick. This trick was called a double backside alley-oop rodeo. She did this while training with the U.S. snowboard team.
Then, on January 26, 2013, she did it again! Elena landed the double backside alley-oop rodeo during a real competition. This happened at Winter X Games XVII. It was a huge moment in snowboarding.
Olympic and X Games Achievements
Elena Hight has represented the USA in the Winter Olympics. She competed in the ladies' halfpipe event.
- At the 2006 Winter Olympics, she finished in 6th place.
- At the 2010 Winter Olympics, she placed 10th.
