Elena Angela Verdugo was born on April 20, 1925. Her hometown was Paso Robles, California. Her mother was Mrs. Beatrice K. Verdugo. When Elena was young, she studied many arts. These included dance, drama, and music.

Movies
When Elena was 15, a judge helped her sign a film contract. This allowed her to start her movie career. One of her first movies was Down Argentine Way (1940). She appeared in many films during the 1940s. This included some scary movies from Universal Studios.
While making the comedy film Little Giant (1946), she met Charles R. Marion. He was a writer for movies and radio shows. They later got married. Elena also starred in The Big Sombrero (1949). She had a small part in the famous movie Cyrano de Bergerac (1950). In this movie, she played an orange girl. She also co-starred in Thief of Damascus (1952). Later, she had a main role as a singer in the musical comedy Panama Sal (1957).

Elena Verdugo was very good at comedy. She made many people laugh in the popular show Meet Millie. This show was on both radio and television from 1952 to 1956.
