Eleven Point State Park is a special place in Missouri. It is one of the newest state parks in the state. This park was announced in 2016. It covers a large area of land, about 4,167 acres!
The park is located in southern Missouri. It is near the Eleven Point River. This beautiful area is part of the Ozarks.
About Eleven Point State Park
Eleven Point State Park was created to offer many fun outdoor activities. The plans for the park included trails for hiking and walking. There were also plans for camping areas. Visitors would be able to go fishing in the river. It was also meant to be a great spot for picnicking. People could also enjoy birdwatching and studying nature.
Where is Eleven Point State Park?
This park is mostly on land that used to be a ranch. It was called the Pigman Ranch. The park is located near a small town called Riverton. This area is in Oregon County, in southern Missouri. The Eleven Point River flows through or near the park.
Why is the Park Not Open Yet?
Even though the park was announced in 2016, it is not yet open to the public. It is one of three new state parks in Missouri that are still waiting to be developed. In August 2017, a decision was made to close the park indefinitely. This means it is not open for visitors right now. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is in charge of the park.
