Elf (movie) facts for kids
Elf is a super fun American Christmas comedy movie from 2003. It was directed by Jon Favreau. The main stars are Will Ferrell, James Caan, Bob Newhart, Zooey Deschanel, and Ed Asner.
The story is about a human named Buddy, played by Will Ferrell. He was accidentally raised by elves at the North Pole. Buddy lives just like the elves do and helps out in Santa's workshop. But he's much bigger than everyone else! He decides to travel to New York City to find his real father. Buddy is used to the simple, cheerful life of the North Pole. New York City is a very different and busy place, which makes for lots of funny moments!
The movie was released on November 7, 2003, by Warner Bros.. People really liked it! Elf was so popular that it inspired a Broadway musical in 2010 and a stop-motion animated TV special on NBC in 2014.
