Elizabeth Perkins (born November 18, 1960) is a talented American actress. She is famous for her roles in many movies like Big (1988), The Flintstones (1994), and Hop (2011). She also played a well-known character named Celia Hodes in the TV show Weeds. For this role, she was nominated for several big awards, including three Primetime Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe nominations.

Early Life of Elizabeth Perkins
Elizabeth Perkins was born in Queens, New York, on November 18, 1960. Her mother, Jo Williams, worked as a counselor. Her father, James Perkins, was a farmer, writer, and businessman. Elizabeth has two sisters.
Her grandparents came from Thessaloniki in Greece. When they moved to the United States, they changed their family name from "Pisperikos" to "Perkins."
Elizabeth grew up in Colrain, Massachusetts. Her parents divorced when she was three years old. She started acting in local theater groups, like the Arena Civic Theatre in Greenfield, Massachusetts.
After high school at Northfield Mount Hermon School, Elizabeth studied acting. From 1978 to 1981, she attended the Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University in Chicago. In 1984, she made her first appearance on Broadway in a play called Brighton Beach Memoirs. She also worked with other theater groups, including The New York Shakespeare Festival.
Elizabeth Perkins' Acting Career
In 1986, Elizabeth Perkins was named one of the "Promising New Actors" by John Willis' Screen World. She made her first movie appearance in About Last Night... that same year.
Breakthrough Roles
Elizabeth had a big career moment when she starred with Tom Hanks in the movie Big (1988). She also received great reviews for her acting in Avalon. In the movie The Doctor, she played a patient with a serious illness. Her performance in this role was highly praised.
Movies and TV Shows
Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Elizabeth appeared in many popular films and TV shows. In 1994, she played Wilma Flintstone in The Flintstones. She also starred in Miracle on 34th Street as Dorey Walker.
In 2000, she was in 28 Days alongside Sandra Bullock. Elizabeth also had a small voice role in the animated movie Finding Nemo (2003) as Coral, Nemo's mother. In 2005, she played a psychiatrist in the horror film The Ring Two.
Weeds and Other TV Series
One of Elizabeth Perkins' most famous roles was Celia Hodes in the Showtime TV series Weeds. For her work on this show, she was nominated for two Golden Globe awards and three Emmy Awards. She once said that Celia Hodes was her favorite role ever. She left the show after its fifth season in 2010.
Later, she starred in the ABC comedy series How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life). She also played Birdie in the Netflix series GLOW.
Personal Life
Elizabeth Perkins married Terry Kinney in 1984, but they divorced in 1988. She has one daughter. In 2000, she married cinematographer Julio Macat. Through this marriage, she gained three stepsons: Maximillian, Alexander, and Andreas.
In 2005, when she was 44 years old, Elizabeth learned she had latent autoimmune diabetes. This is a type of type 1 diabetes that is often found in adults.
